Ayer Poster Font Family

Display typefaces for fashion magazines need exibility in order to extend their lifespan beyond a couple seasons. Ayer Poster fulfills this need in part by having four different italics. In addition to a relatively tame italic matching the other optical sizes, the family features a Cursive with wild swashes, an aggressively stylistic Angular, and an unexpected Blackletter. The four italics differ in structure and angle of inclination, but are tied together by weight, contrast, and proportion, making each work with the uprights and even enabling them to be mixed together in adventurous layouts.

Zin Sans is a contemporary sans-serif typeface designed for various situations of typographic usage. Characteristic feature is a large x-height and balance between neutral construction of letters (strictly vertical axis) and dynamic open forms (opened terminals). Another typical feature is a visually narrower connection between stems and strokes.

Recife Font Family

Recife is the text typeface designed for today’s editorial needs. It stands in the tradition of antique fonts in the Dutch manner; such as Plantin and Times. Due to the innovative calligraphy achieves Recife an own crisp identity. Especially the lowercase a, f and s reflects this approach; with their open counter-spaces.

Sperling FY is a geometric and condensed high contrast font, characterized by its long vertical serifs. Its big i-dot as well as some other deliberately naive disproportions like the W are wonderful signs to identify Sperling FY. The accompanying italic style illustrates well designed creative forms like the k or the z. 

Canto Font Family

Canto starts a new chapter. Six years after its original release, Richard Lipton has significantly augmented this lyrical, inscriptional family, greatly furthering its expressive range.

Discourse Font Family

Discourse was first visualized when letterer and designer Dave Bailey heard a preview of the album “Dust and Buried Bones: A Western Fantasy” by Opiate Eyes. The title alone evokes vivid imagery of gritty western films and the Oregon Trail. Although Discourse references classic reverse-contrast wood type associated with the era of the Wild West, it re-interprets conventional forms to be more unique and dis­tinctly neo-modern.
